Peter G. Christian is an associate with Schaefer Law Firm committed to protecting the civil and basic rights of employees and individuals. Whether his clients are victims of discrimination in the workplace, consumers who have been treated unfairly, or individuals with disabilities seeking equal opportunities, Peter always puts his clients’ interests first.
As an advocate who learned to practice law by trying high stakes criminal cases, he is an aggressive and fearless litigator motivated first and foremost by results. He has experience representing employees and executives in all areas of employment-related litigation and has worked extensively on behalf of individuals with disabilities in the workplace and in the education sector.
Prior to joining Schaefer Law Firm, Peter worked with the Ramsey County Public Defender’s Office, Juvenile Division, primarily representing children accused of crimes. Peter received his J.D. from the University of Minnesota Law School, cum laude, and his B.A. from Marquette University, magna cum laude. While in law school, he received awards for his trial and appellate advocacy skills and was a director of the Special Education Law Clinic, working on behalf of students with disabilities. Before law school, Peter taught fifth grade in the Mississippi Delta with the Teach for America corps, leading his students to record-setting results in reading and math proficiency, and co-founded the Delta Youth Empowerment non-profit organization.
Peter is a member of the local and national chapters of the National Employment Lawyers Association (NELA) and the Minnesota State Bar Association. He is admitted to practice in United States District Court and Minnesota state courts.
